‘Find Your Food Freedom’ Training Course

Transform Your Relationship With Food Using Food Psychology

Welcome! I’m Dr Jen, Clinical Psychologist and I’m so glad you’re here.

Have you ever asked yourself one of these questions?

  • "How can I overcome food cravings?"

  • "How can I control the feeling of hunger?"

  • "How do I stop ‘yo-yo’ dieting?"

  • "How do I curb evening grazing?"

  • "How do I continue to eat healthily when my partner is eating all the things that I enjoy?"

  • "How can I cope with the overwhelming compulsion to eat?”

  • "How do I manage emotional eating?"

  • “How do I stick with something, once and for all?”

  • "How do I lose weight without depriving myself?"

  • "How do I stop self-sabotage?"

If you have ever asked yourself one or more of these questions, you are in exactly the right place!

As a recovered ‘non-hunger eater’ myself, I can say this with certainty:

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU if you’ve been struggling with food/your weight trying to use traditional approaches that encourage you to simply ‘eat-less and move more’.

I have created just the thing that will not only allow you to learn evidence-based strategies that will give you ultimate freedom in your relationship with food, but it is also an exclusive opportunity to learn from a world leading expert in food psychology, at a fraction of the investment of what you’d pay working one-on-one, right from the comfort of your own home!

Are you ready to give up the diet rollercoaster for good and finally reach your natural weight for life?

Hi, I’m Dr Jen

As a recovered emotional eater, I remember all too well the guilt and shame of struggling with food issues. I understood what I ‘should’ be eating but battled for many years with what I now call, ‘non-hunger eating’. Whether it was sadness, happiness, reward or celebration – food was my best friend. It was my guilty, shameful secret, and I thought I was the only person in the world who struggled with these issues. I tried to apply the usual ‘eat-less, move-more’ strategies to my problem, but what I didn’t know then that I know now, is that food wasn’t the real problem. I was using food to solve problems it just wasn’t designed to fix. I worked with the exact same strategies and processes that I now teach in my trainings to get the food and body freedom I was longing for.

Fast forward to today, I now love nothing more than to inspire you with step-by-step trainings to reveal the story that your struggles with over-eating and over-weight are telling. Uncover that story and you gain freedom from the shame and guilt about your eating and weight and can finally step into joyful weight loss for body (and life) transformation. It’s for this reason and more, I’m so glad we’ve found each other!

I created this training because I remember all too well the shame and guilt of struggling with food issues, without any hope or doorway out.

If you’re eating in secret, embarrassed by the number of healthy eating approaches you’ve tried and ‘failed’ and the situation is getting worse not better, year on year, then don’t let another moment pass without getting the solution you really need.

If you know that you want to get to the root of your struggle with food so you can eat like a ‘normal’ person (the biggest wish of my graduates). If you want to enjoy all the foods you choose to so you can transform your relationship with food and your body, then the ‘Find Your Food Freedom’ training is perfect for you.

A Solution You Can Trust

In an independent study conducted by the UK National Health Service, individuals lost an average of 5.8kg in weight using this online training. Some individuals lost up to 32kg and were able to stop taking their Type 2 Diabetes medication because of the changes they had made.

I’m using your strategies to avoid grazing and almost immediately stopped mindless eating. Your training is exceptional.
Richard Littooy, USA.

Module 1:

Food & Foundations

Discover the crucial mindset switch - learning from those with a naturally healthy relationship with food.

Say goodbye to the harsh ‘bootcamp’ mindset and say hello to the warm but powerful ‘Dr Jen’ way. You may have told yourself, “I’ve got no willower/discipline/motivation, “I can’t resist chocolate” but this isn’t the case. You have an ‘Eating Story’ that makes sense of your apparent self-sabotage, and within this module you’ll be guided to easily uncover yours. Willpower is actually a skill, and it’s a skill that many people (including most of the weight loss gurus that you’ve been learning from) have already developed in relation to food. If you haven’t developed it yet, it’s because you just haven’t had anyone break it down and help you learn it yet, in the same way you’ve learned how to drive and other life skills. You’ll discover my unique 6 Steps to Tackling Temptation approach that will get you off to a firm and very practical start on your journey.

Mindfulness Image.jpg

Module 2:

Food & Focus

Embrace Mindful Eating, the Dr Jen way

Much of our eating behaviour happens unconsciously, on auto-pilot. The food is in your mouth before you’ve even realised what you’re doing. Familiar? We’ve all been there. Breaking this unconscious eating is the key to mastering your feelings of freedom around eating– so YOU are finally in control, not the food. This module gives you my simple but powerful 3 Step Process to mindful eating, which takes seconds and enables you to break your unconscious eating with ease.

Module 3:

Food & Forgiveness

Revealing the unspoken - it’s not the sexiest of the steps, but it’s got to be done…

It’s likely you need to forgive both yourself and others to achieve the results you want to with your weight and shape. Confused? There are often important reasons why you may not have achieved the lasting weight loss you want - life experiences, big and small, can lead to needing to eat more than you need to, being bigger in body than you’d consciously like to, or both. Abuse, trauma, grief, loss, bullying, criticism – each of these can affect our self-esteem and sense of worth, and getting in touch with these and coming to peace with what’s happened, is a cornerstone of recovery and releasing the need to carry this extra weight, physically and emotionally. The Food Psychology Academy training gives you tools to do this in a way that is supportive, compassionate and at a pace that you choose.

module_4_img_new.jpg

Module 4:

Food & Feelings

What are you eating away?

Food has never just been about fuel for the body – ever since you were a baby and your tears were soothed by your mother’s milk, food has been about comfort, connection and love. Figure out the link between food and feelings and you’ll finally figure out the emotions that lead you to eat, and crucially, discover helpful ways of dealing with your emotions, so food becomes just one.

module_5_img_new.jpg

Module 5:

Food & Fun:

Recognise that food is fun, but so is other stuff too.

We all need fun in our lives, and food can be an easy route to pleasure and entertainment. It can become a quick and easy shortcut to saying a much needed, ‘well done’. Until it stops working that is, and becomes more like an act of self-harm than self-love. The goal is to put food in its place-as a route to enjoyment, yes - but just one of many. This step will teach you 100’s of ways to get much needed fun into your life, so you can have a range of ways of getting pleasure and reward.

If you want to look at why you eat, Dr Jen looks at things from a really simple, no blame perspective.”
Harriet, UK.
module_6_img_new.jpg

Module 6:

Food & Foresight

How to think as nature intended.

Do you ever find yourself on your way home from a party, day out or holiday, thinking, ‘Why on earth did I eat so much, I didn’t even want that!’ If so, this step will help. To manage your weight you need to know yourself, get in touch with your unconscious beliefs about food and weight, and manage your thinking styles relating to food. Based on evidence-based strategies drawn from cognitive-behavioural therapy, the skill of foresight will give you practical mindset tools to use around food, so that you never feel regret over your eating choices again.

Module 7:

Food & Feeders

Get clear on the inner needs of a Feeder and how to get your freedom back.

Are there some people in your life you feel it’s impossible to say ‘no’ to when they offer you food? If so, there is likely an unconscious need in the relationship dynamic, that’s motivated from a place of love or control. This area of the programme will reveal what’s motivating your Feeder, and give you the exact scripts you need to say ‘no’ in a way that leaves you BOTH feeling great-restoring your relationship to better levels than ever before.

Module 8:

Food & Fables

Revealing your inner stories about food

Fables are both the conscious and unconscious stories we have about food and eating. This area of the programme will take you step-by-step on a process of uncovering your fables with ease. You’ll be shown how to determine which Fables are serving you and which aren’t and how to transform them for massive breakthroughs, almost effortlessly.

module_7_img_new.jpg

Module 9:

Food & Framework

Weight change doesn’t happen in a vacuum

You’ve probably worked out that your environment can make or break whether you have a ‘good’ day with food. Make life a series of good days by being guided on my process of examining your physical, emotional and social framework, for best success.  Master these frameworks and you’ll master the true skill set of maintenance that those with an easy relationship with their body have got figured out.

module_8_img_new.jpg

Module 10:

Food & Future

Living your best life now

This is the exciting bit. Once you’ve got these elements of your journey mastered, you’ll notice all the head space you’ve got available to use as you wish. How are you going to use yours? This step will guide you on the pathway to creating your best possible life, now you’ve got the pathway to your best possible body.

I have gone from being a foodie and comfort eater to not being that interested in food at all… I have lost over a stone in about a month with no effort at all…this really works!
Toni Dormand, UK

Take the Next Simple Step

If you hate the rules and restrictions of being ‘on’ a diet, or are tired of sweating it out at the gym, you’ll love this approach. In the Food Psychology Academy trainings, there are deliberately no food/exercise plans provided (as a psychologist, that’s not my zone of genius).

Instead, the journey you’ll be on with me will inspire you to simply be curious about your choices… and within a short space of time will show you how to lose weight using the most underused muscle in your weight loss journey - your mind!

Whether or not these ten steps feel simple or complex to you right now, I’ve broken it down so it’s all step-by-step and very do-able. I’ve shared some success stories below and throughout this page to inspire you, and if you’d like to achieve the same results, you are invited on the next step of your journey with me.

I enjoyed Dr Jen’s style of information sharing as it gives me the flexibility to engage at a time and pace that suited my personal situation, which varies so much with all my other commitments. I am delighted with the content and information given within the training. Buki, UK.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this training for me?

Take two minutes to answer the 5 quick ‘yes/no’ questions you’ll find by clicking this link. If you answer ‘yes’ one or more of these questions, you can be confident that a food psychology approach will serve you towards achieving the results you are looking for.

Why should I invest in this training?

This training gives you the specific tools, teaching, guidance and resources to give you the missing ‘a-ha’ of why you have been struggling to lose weight using traditional methods. If you’re tired of not achieving the results you want and are ready to truly understand why you struggle AND how to make the internal changes for different results, this is the solution for you.

How am I going to learn?

Your training is housed within our private, member-only website. Each module is filled with step-by-step training videos, done for your templates, resource lists and action guides. You can watch and learn from your computer, iPad, iPhone, or mobile device. You don’t need any technical skills to access the training. The goal is to make your online learning experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Grab & Go training

Tired of sitting through 90 minutes video presentations? So are we. That’s why we’ve broken down our core training into short, digestible videos. Each lesson is only 10-20 minutes long. We want you to learn, implement, and take action as quickly as possible without any overwhelm or brain fatigue.

MultiMedia formats

No matter what your preferred learning style is, you’ll find the the training delivers. With our multimedia training, you’ll get access to downloadable videos, MP3s, PDF Fun-Sheets, transcripts, resource guides, templates, and “cheat sheets” of every slide presentation.

Can I learn at my own pace?

Absolutely. You don’t have to worry about ‘falling behind’. Every graduate gets lifetime access to the training materials. You can revisit and review them at anytime.

I’m already following a healthy eating programme, can this still help me?

Yes! The Food Psychology Academy training is focused on your emotions, heart and mind and has been designed to complement any weight loss program you may be following. However even if you’re not ‘on’ a healthy eating approach or programne, you can still expect to see and feel results by following the training. As you’ll discover - when you take your focus off the food and onto your thoughts and feelings about the food, you’ll get the results you’ve been searching for.

Do you offer any guidelines about the amount of weight I can expect to lose by following this training?

In a word – no. Weight loss involves a complex interplay of factors and whilst this training will succeed in offering you a novel way to view your eating behaviour, we do not offer any promises of weight loss. If you follow the training, do the reflective exercises ad and implement the experiments you will see results in your relationship with food, your self-esteem and mindset, but all we can do is provide you with the tools, it is up to you to do the work. This is not a ‘quick-fix’. That said, in an independent study conducted by the UK National Health Service, individuals lost an average of 5.8kg in weight using this online training. Some individuals lost up to 32kg and were able to stop taking their Type 2 Diabetes medication because of the changes they had made.

Do you offer a refund policy?

You’ll be pleased to hear this is a refund policy available, that honours both parties. If you fully complete the training and complete all the worksheets, I am confident you will achieve results. However, if that is not your experience, please submit all your completed worksheet materials within 30 days, demonstrating that you participated fully to the training with commitment and dedication. If you have fully participated and haven’t got results, then I will be happy to refund your investment in the training (I wish I could get you results by osmosis, but sadly, I’m not that good!). As this is a digital training, there are no refunds available for simply changing your mind.

Important disclaimer:

All efforts have been made to give you an accurate representation of the training. Any results from testimonials are to provide an indication of what others have experienced. You probably already know that this isn’t a guarantee that you will experience the same results, and that your personal success will depend on how fully you commit to using the content and materials available.

I’ve seem a psychologist before and it didn’t help. How is this different?

It’s great that you’ve sought support for yourself previously and we’re pleased you’re considering this training as the next step in your journey. Just like you don’t become friends with every person you meet, finding a great fit between therapist and client can be a similarly less-than-straightforward journey of discovery, with a few ‘scenic routes’ along the way. Just like a mother can ‘describe’ the process of childbirth to another person; yet only truly ‘know’ the experience by having been through it – The Food Psychology Academy Graduates often say that I just seem to ‘get it’! Most likely this is because I too have been in your shoes, struggling to know how to figure it all out, and full of empathy and compassion for your pain, and hope and inspiration for your recovery to freedom. However, my style of teaching will not be a fit for everyone – and that’s why as described above, you are invited to participate in the training risk free for up to 30 days. If you don’t receive the a-ha’s you’re looking for, then we want you to return your investment and find a therapist who is better suited. In fact, we have a network of Therapists, of varying ages, genders and styles, who we would be happy to connect you with if that’s your next best step. My biggest wish is for you to find freedom, and it is an honour to be a part of your journey, in whatever way best serves you.

I’m reluctant to invest in the training as I’ve already spent a lot of money on weight loss solutions.

I understand. Your money is precious and I want you to be clear that this is a good use of your money before you invest. Many people struggle to manage their weight (often for years) simply because they are using the wrong ‘tools’ to fix the problem. It’s a bit like trying to drill a hole using a hammer! Those previous attempted approaches would have worked if they were a good fit for you - it wasn’t your fault they weren’t, and it wasn’t the particular approaches fault either (all approaches have their success stories). I’m sorry if it’s difficult to hear this, but if an ‘eat less, move more’ approach were the right fit for you, once of them WOULD have worked by now.

To ascertain if a food psychology approach is a good next step for you, please take two minutes to answer the 5 quick ‘yes/no’ questions you’ll find by clicking here. If you answer ‘yes’ one or more of these questions, you can be confident that a food psychology approach will serve you towards achieving the results you are looking for.

If your finances are such that you can’t currently invest in the training, my suggestion is to:

1) Understand more about this approach free of charge by making sure you are registered for my email magazine and my ‘Dr Jen Show’ on Facebook and;

2) Consider saving for this training, in the same way you may save to learn another new skill like driving instruction.

What level of time investment is recommended for best results?

Just like seeing a 1:1 health professional, one hour a week is recommended, for 12 weeks. If that feels too challenging, you can divide this up into 10 minutes a day, according to your lifestyle, commitments and preference. Please remember that all of your training materials are learn-at-your-own-pace, so you don’t need to “catch-up” because you are free to set the learning pace that is perfect for you.

How can I get an idea of the quality of content and materials?

If you’ve never listened to any of my free webinars before you can access one here – this will give you an idea of the training I deliver and the quality of content that I offer. If you’ve never seen my free guides before, sign up for one here and you’ll see the quality and style that the training materials will come to you in.

What If I have questions?

We’re here to serve you. If you have technical issues, or are simply having a challenge you need help with, write to hello@foodpsychologyacademy.com and we’ll be happy to support you. Our customer service hours are Monday-Friday from 9am - 5pm GMT.

The training has helped me get to the bottom of a variety of core beliefs that have been unhelpful to me in the past, that have impacted my eating behaviour in the here and now. Since working with it, I am more comfortable with being my real self instead of trying to live up to others expectations and that I can live life much more on my terms. Katie, New Zealand.
